For this front fence infill and gate, the client chose 100mm Light Oak aluminium slats with a 10mm gap. When you’re using a lot of slats, the wider 100mm profile gives a more minimal, seamless look – perfect for modern homes that don’t want the fence to feel busy or cluttered.

She already had brick pillars along the front boundary and wanted to fill the gaps with something that wasn’t solid, but still offered privacy. Aluminium slats were the perfect fit – they allow air to flow through, cut out the direct street view and give the home a more finished street frontage without making the space feel closed in.

The Light Oak wood-look finish was chosen to contrast against the cream rendered brickwork and tie in with the timber front door, keeping everything looking warm and intentional rather than flat or industrial. Aluminium also means no warping, no painting, no rot, and it stays looking fresh with almost zero maintenance.
