Aluminium Slat Front Fence & Gates – Joondalup
This job in Joondalup was all about closing in a front yard that was completely open.
No fence, no real boundary - just straight access from the street. It didn’t feel secure, and with a young kid, it just wasn’t practical.
The goal wasn’t to block everything off though. They still wanted it to feel open and usable, not like they’d put a wall across the front of the house.
This Joondalup job involved adding a full front boundary to a property that previously had no fencing at all. The front yard was completely open to the street, which didn’t provide much privacy and wasn’t ideal with a young child around.
We installed a new aluminium slat front fence across the frontage to define the boundary and make the space more secure. The slat design allows for airflow and some visibility through the fence, without leaving the property fully exposed.
For this project, we used horizontal slats with a tighter spacing, which suits front boundaries where privacy is still important. It gives a more solid look from the street while still keeping the overall design lighter than a fully solid fence.

Pergola Gates
The pergola area also needed to be enclosed so it could be used safely.
Rather than extending the full-height fence through this section, we installed matching gates that close off the area while keeping visibility through the space. This keeps the layout consistent and avoids breaking the yard into separate closed-off sections.
Because these are made to suit the opening, the sizing and alignment works properly with the existing structure, which is something you don’t get with off-the-shelf panels.

Side Access Gate
We also installed a double gate down the side of the house to allow proper access.
This gives enough clearance for trailers, equipment, or larger items to move through without any issues. It’s a practical addition that’s worth including at the time of install rather than trying to work around limited access later on.
Completed Result
The property now has a defined front boundary and secure access points, without overcomplicating the design.
